If the sight of a trophy sized speckled trout lying in the landing net, drag stripping redfish & black drum doing their best to escape your hook set, gets you exited, then you have come to the right place. Captain Michael Angell has spent his lifetime mastering the art of catching fish in what is believed by many to be one of the worlds most prolific estuary systems.  Whether fishing along a quiet stretch of marsh for tailing redfish or Baffin Bay  for summertime trophy speckled trout, you can rest assure that a light tackle fishing trip with Captain Michael Angell will be an unforgettable adventure.

I'm Capt. Michael Angell, I specialize in family charters for the novice to the most experienced fisherman. I am here to insure you have a safe, fun, and  productive day on the water. I grew up in Corpus Christi and have been fishing and exploring the estuaries and bays of Corpus Christi, Baffin Bay and the Laguna Madre for over twenty-five  years. I have traveled the world fishing, diving and sightseeing and nothing satisfies me more than being out on the water in and around the Corpus Christi area.

I believe for me it is the great diversity of  it's water that keeps me here. Year around world class fishing, pristine beaches and estuaries; and  the historical worm rocks of  Baffin Bay that rivals all others are just minutes away. You can be fishing in the Laguna Madre, just minutes away from downtown Corpus Christi, and from there you can be in Baffin Bay or flat fishing for any number of fish in just minutes.   Growing up, I spent my weekends and summers boating and camping with my family. We would do overnight trips  to Padre Island, camping out on the beach. I have logged thousands of hours fishing and exploring the coast .

I enjoy fishing  mud flats for one of our favorite species the redfish. Redfish can be seen on these flats (tailing) They feed on crabs and small baitfish almost doing handstands with their tails sticking out of the water. Sight casting artificial or live bait are two excellent ways to catch these hard fighting fish. Sea trout , flounder and many other species are also abundant .

Year-round we fish the fabled Laguna Madre system including the famous Baffin Bay, for Spotted Seatrout, Redfish , Flounder, Black Drum, . This is light-tackle fishing at its finest, with large fish caught in the shallows of quiet backwaters. And all of this saltwater fishing is barely an hour from Corpus Christi .Only top-quality equipment  are used so that you have the best possible chance of catching that trophy trout or redfish of your dreams. Captain Michael Angell is competent, entertaining, extremely knowledgeable on how to fish in the Corpus Christi area, and is fully licensed by the US Coast Guard and the State of Texas.
